Allowing connections of high-flow tools to excavators up to 40 metric tons (44 tons), Engcon has introduced the Q-Safe 80 automatic quick hitch.
The connector allows excavator operators to remain in the cab while connecting or disconnecting a tiltrotator and other tools, the company says and will be the most powerful automatic quick hitch it has offered to date.
The system will come with an EC-Oil 70 block, two 3/4-inch connectors and connections for electrical power and central lubrication. This standard Q-Safe 80 configuration will allow for hydraulic flows up to 250 liters.
If more flow is needed for larger high-flow tools, Engcon says the system can be upgraded to an EC-Oil 80, two 1-inch hydraulic connectors, one 1/2-inch hydraulic connector and two electrical power connections for a flow of 300 liters.
“There is great demand for an automatic quick hitch for large excavators, as the large manual hydraulic connectors from ¾ inch upwards are heavy and difficult to handle,” says Fredrik Jonsson, research and development manager at Engcon. “EC-Oil 80 can transform connections for large excavators and tools, so that jumping in and out of the machine and struggling with awkward, pressurised, messy hydraulic connectors will be a thing of the past.”
Automatic hydraulic oil connection to the quick hitch and tiltrotators will be available in sizes QS45 to QS80, and will come as standard with the purchase of a machine hitch, tiltrotator and DC2 control system.
Engcon says the Q-Safe 80 will be available in the spring.
